John's Mountain

If you’re looking for a great hiking, fishing, seasonal hunting and camping experience, one of the City of LaFayette’s Gateways to Your Outdoor Adventures leads to John’s Mountain Wildlife Management Area.

John’s Mountain is a 24,849-acre property located in Walker County, just outside of LaFayette, at 9 Lake Marvin Road NE in Armuchee, Ga. It is part of the Chattahoochee National Forest.

If you’re looking to take the family camping, there are many spots to set up camp or park your camper/RV at the Pocket Campground. Bathrooms are located in close distance.

Hikers can explore Keown Falls Trail and Pinhoti Trial Loop. Dogs are allowed on the trial, but must be kept on a leash. Picnic areas are located near the parking lot.
