Christmas Parade

The Annual City of LaFayette Christmas Parade
The Queen City of the Highlands wishes everyone a Merry Christmas—“May your Holidays “Bee” filled with Cheer!

The Annual City of LaFayette Christmas Parade is a long standing tradition in our city and has been for many, many years.

The Christmas Parade is typically held on the first Friday evening of December, with a rain date on the following Friday. The Christmas Parade for 2020, will be held on Friday, December 4, at 6:00 p.m.

Over 90 different vehicles and floats participate in the parade and give out candy as Santa rides into town on the fire truck.

The parade route begins at Ace Hardware (512 South Main St.) and travels north on Main Street through the Square. The route then turns left onto Margaret Street to the parking lot of the old LaFayette High School.

After the parade, Santa Claus makes a stop at the Gazebo at Joe Stock Memorial Park for Free Photos with Children.

Three local judges select the best floats. Each year, the Christmas Parade is aired on UCTV-265. The parade is hosted by Mayor Andy Arnold and Rachel Oesch Willeford.

For questions about the annual Christmas parade call the LaFayette Main Street office at 706-639-1550.

As of September 15, 2020, plans are still on to hosting the 2020 Christmas Parade. This decision could change based on local Covid-19 conditions before the event, so be sure to follow our Facebook page for updates. We will be doing a few things slightly different in order to provide the safest environment for everyone that participates.

-Please note that we will not be throwing candy from floats this year.
-Santa will be in the parade, but we will not have Pictures with Santa at Joe Stock Park after the parade.
-Follow all other recommended guidelines from the CDC at the time of the event.
